The new National Court of Justice has a new president, Carlos Ramirez Romero, who was elected with 19 votes of 21 judges.

Ramirez, from Loja, was president of the National Court since January 12, 2011. The National Court ended on Thursday a 18-month restructuring.

The newly elected president joined the Civil Court that doubled the sentence against Banco Pichincha in 2010 to provide a compensation of $ 600,000 to President Rafael Correa in the lawsuit that raised moral damage.
