Chelsea Kings of the Champions League 2012
This afternoon, Chelsea beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties at the Allianz Arena to win the Champions League following a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
Just when Bayern thought they win the match, the Ivorian Didier Drogba scored the tie in regulation and converted the final penalty.
The game was relatively dominated by Bayern, forcing Chelsea to defend with few scoring opportunities. But the English team claimed near the end of the first half to score his first goal.
The second half, Chelsea was a little bit more attacking. A minute 83, the game seemed finished when Bayern opened the scoring with a header by Thomas Müller, causing anxiety from Chelsea for turning one more goal. Five minutes later, Drogba does the tie with a header.
Then came the penalties and Bayern managed to advantage; Neuer stopped at Juan Mata, but then things evened Cech to stop the firing of Olic. In the latest release, Schweinsteiger crashed the ball against the post and Drogba became his and he gave the title to Chelsea.
