Evo Morales Denounces Police Insurrection
For five days thousands of rebel police officers in Bolivia are performing demonstrations in the gates of the government palace, where they paraded firing their rifles into the sky.
The police clashed with the supporters of the Bolivian president Evo Morales, who were summoned to reject the alleged coup d’etat. The agents, corporals, sergeants that were demanding better salaries, occupied the streets of Murillo square where they chanted slogans against the president in front of the presidential palace, the Parliament and the Foreign relations office.
The Burnt Palace where Morales is currently working was respected until yesterday because the army internally guarded it. The Bolivian leader assured that he would not deploy the Armed Forces to fight the insurgents. Morales wants to avoid any type of hostile confrontation. (AV)
