France Would Recognize a Syrian Opposition Government

French President François Hollande calls to the Syrian opposition for create a provisional government. France would then recognize such government once it’s properly formed.

Hollande’s announcement was made in a speech Monday to France’s ambassadors to increase the diplomatic pressure against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his regime amid the growing bloodshed in the country.

However Syria’s opposition is poorly organized and badly fragmented which leaves such government far from its creation anytime soon. AV
