Ecuador in the World Economic Forum

In the newest edition of the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Ecuador has increased 16 positions in the world competitiveness ranking,  locating itself in the 86 place of 144 countries in the world.

In 2011, Ecuador was in the 101 position of 142 countries, this breakthrough comes from the improvement of efficiency factors, technological preparation, innovation and macro-economic stability.

If the same countries that were considered in 201, Ecuador would be in the 85 position,” affirmed Sara Wong, scholar of ESPAE-ESPOL. Now Ecuador has surpassed Venezuela (122), while approaching to the competitiveness of Chile (33), Panama (40) and Brazil (48). AV
