It is expected that the massive march today in Guayaquil, encouraged by mayor Jaime Nebot, will cause a substantial change in relation to political and social forces.
“Now they are going to dialogue with the people on the streets. The citizenry has many ways to express themselves and take to the streets to express their opinion. It’s a way of addressing him. Hopefully he will listen, because there will be consequences if he does not,” warned Nebot to the president in his speech yesterday in a radio address.
According to the mayor, the people march in protest not only to these two laws, “but by the strange country they want to impose. The previous marches did earn respect for Guayaquil. This will also accomplish its task of ensuring respect to Guayaquil and Ecuador.”
