Analysts consulted by Daily Expreso, pointed out that the government political movement, Alianza PAIS, “Does not summon the citizenship or its own adherents as before.”
The last three weeks it would seem that the government´s movement has ‘yielded’ positions and has been less confrontational. It no longer responds to each of the opponents, as before. Or with the same immediacy. Neither President Rafael Correa has been pronounced as before. He only appeared on the balcony of the Carondelet Palace to greet his supporters, who were at the Independence Square on Thursday.
Such behavior draws the attention of the opponents. According to them, this is explained by several reasons: the passing of time in power and a progressive exhaustion of the PAIS cycle (which, since the beginning of its project, combines progressive and conservative elements).
