Ecuadorian Cocoa was awarded for its excellent quality, this news was released by Valeria Escudero, director of the Commercial Office in Paris of Pro Ecuador. Alicia Villacis Encalada plantations and the Agricultural Association La Fortaleza won the International Cocoa Awards. Furthermore, Cofina, the Association of Organic Producers of Vinces and Vicente Norero received a certificate of recognition for the quality, diversity and excellence of their cocoa.
The prize was awarded at the Salon de Chocolat in Paris. 148 samples from 35 cocoa producing countries participated. 17 selected samples were awarded by a panel of experts composed of great chocolate producers and cocoa experts of the world.
Until August this year the country exported to the world $ 488.6 million by cocoa and processed products.
