The Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE for its Spanish acronym) said Friday it has implemented a new service to send remittances from abroad. The service allows migrants from Spain, Belgium and Italy, send money through the TransferTo company, specializing in international electronic money transfers to their families in Ecuador. The money comes through any mobile device to Ecuadorian citizens and until June 21 it will be free of charge.
The requirement to have access to the service is that those who will receive the remittances have opened a virtual account with the BCE. The Central Bank of Ecuador recorded $ 2,377.8 million in remittances in 2015 (I).
