Europe and Asia Affected by Cold Wave
The cold wave that assails Eastern Europe has left 110 casualties. Ukraine suffers the worst part of the merciless weather, since 63 people have perished since last Friday, 28 were homeless people.
This is the coldest winter that the former soviet republic is suffering in six years, with night temperatures of -33 degrees. Poland is also facing a similar situation because since January 27, 29 homeless people have died due to the extreme weather.
Meteorologists explained that the cold in Eastern Europe is like a cold air mass coming from the south of Siberia, which comprehends the entire territory of Russia. In Spain, help groups are on alert waiting for the arrival of the cold wave with temperatures up to -16 degrees in the capital.
The cold wave has also reached Japan and China where the snow has covered streets and houses. Turkey has also registered polar temperatures. (AV)
