Expensive productions of the Ecuadorian State are not yet broadcast
The report ‘Lights, Camera, Splurge?’ denounces that in nine years of government “inefficient investment” has been made in certain productions, which are part of the communication strategy of the Government. Investigative journalism TV show Vision 360 of the Ecuavisa network, broadcast on Sunday reported this.
Some examples are mentioned, of which at least three share the coincidence of not being aired yet. The programs are: Social Circus, Land of Snakes and Spirit of Yasuni. The author of the report, Thomas Ciuffardi, says that he himself directed the first one in 2011.
The then Vice President Lenin Moreno was the one the Vice Presidencywho hired the production. Ciuffardi indicates that he was part of the official campaign ‘Social Circus,’ which consisted of 15 chapters. And, citing data from the Vice Presidency, the values for different contracts related to the television program, total $ 506,266.
On Land of Snakes it was reported that this is a police series of the Interior Ministry, and that “more than $ 700,000 were paid to a private production company.”
