155 people evacuated due the fire in southern Quito

Yesterday, one of the most intense fires was registered in the area of San Juan de Chillogallo, south of Quito, which forced the mobilization of 155 residents of the sector.

The thick smoke and ash that the fire caused also affected Wimper School children, making authorities to move the children from the school to a safer place.

According to reports of the Fire Department and the National Secretariat of Risk Management, in Ecuador fires have destroyed more than 6,000 hectares in the nine provinces where the orange alert has been given. (MZ)
