2011 Brings New Apps
The revolution of the applications on smart phones took off in 2010, and threatens to conquer 2011.
Smart phones gain more space in the market. Nokia, Apple, and Android already have more than 300,000 applications available for their devices, and this year will be a lot more.
Some of the new applications are: Swype, a virtual keyboard that lets enter words by dragging a finger across the letters, as the person do it the program draws a line at the selected letters, after this will be translated into one word.
Tango, an application to make video calls with an impoved interconnection in comparison with the existing ones, will also arrive. The app also detects which of the contacts have the program installed.
Now it would be possible to listen music from the internet with RDIO application, which also will have social networking features to show what are listening user’s friends.
It is estimated that it will be more viruses, but there is an application called Lookout, which analyzes the applications that are being installed on the device in order to report if it is safe or not.
Finally, there is also an app called Micello and has internal maps of shopping centers, hospitals, and other buildings. If a user check in there, the business of the place can offer discounts.
