Yesterday, the presence of a group of policemen guarding the Judicial Council building (JC), by order of the Ministry of Interior, prompted the removed president Benjamin Cevallos to struggle with the Judiciary escort in order to enter the building and his former office. Tension increased when a group of protesters led by Rodrigo Collahuazo, leader of the rural social security, close to the Government, demanded the resignation of all members of the Judiciary. Demonstrators struggled with the police for about fifteen minutes. A press conference took place once the order was restored, at around 12:30. Jaramillo, accompanied by four other members, reported that the return of Cevallos to his office is just a matter of hours.
