Ecuadornews:
The preparatory hearing is scheduled for the morning of this Monday, October 15 in Esmeraldas. The Prosecutor’s Office accused these former collaborators of “Guacho” of organized crime.
This Monday, October 15, in the criminal Unit of Esmeraldas, the trial preparatory hearing will be held for 27 alleged members of the Óliver Sinisterra Front. The narco-criminal organization is headed by Walter Arizala, alias “Guacho” and was accused of carrying out attacks, kidnappings and murders in the country, especially on the northern border.

Prosecutor Wilson Toainga accuses the 27 suspects of alleged organized crime. This file includes alias “Guacho”, but has not been arrested and cannot be sentenced. At the end of September, the Prosecutor’s Office issued an acquittal in favor of Sully Q., a criterion that was accepted by Judge Óscar Corozo, who ordered her release. She is investigated for her alleged participation within the organization.
The Óliver Sinisterra Front is accused of the kidnapping and murder of journalists Xavier Ortega, Paúl Rivas and Efraín Segarra; and also about the crime of Óscar Villacís and Katty Velasco. In addition, it is linked to the attack that killed four Marines in Mataje and the bombs placed in the police station of San Lorenzo, in the naval station of Borbón and in the electricity towers of Quinindé.
The Armed Forces of both countries continue with the protocols to capture “Guacho”, who in one of the last operatives was wounded last September 15 in Tumaco, by members of the Colombian Military Forces. In that event it was mentioned that the ex-guerrilla member was wounded in the back. In those actions also died a Colombian military. (I)
