30,000 tourists are expected in Quito by arrival of the Pope
The upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Ecuador notices an massive influx of tourists to Quito and Guayaquil according to the Quito Turismo public company. The capital expects to receive approximately 30 000 Ecuadorians and foreign tourists between 5 and July 8.
Approximately 500,000 people will come to Quito from other provinces to attend the Mass the Pope will offer at the Bicentenario Park.
Quito Turismo projects that tourism will generate extraordinary revenues for the city of almost $ 20 million dollars.
