4 Ecuadorians detained in Spain during an anti-drug operation

4 Ecuadorian citizens were arrested in Spain, two in Madrid and two in Galicia. This adds up to the arrest of 20 people during the Marine Cyclone operation, in which 5.53 tons of cocaine were seized. The drug was found inside the Panamanian merchant vessel Kraker I, while sailing waters of the province of Santa Elena, between Thursday and Friday.

Carlos Alfonso Abella, Spanish ambassador to Ecuador, described the operation deployed in Ecuador as “of great significance,” not only because of the amount of cocaine seized, but also because of the millions of doses the cargo represented and the profit it could have generated (More than $ 250 million) for the gangs dedicated to drug trafficking.
