5 killed by wildfires in Ecuador

Yesterday, the wildfires that continue damaging the country, claimed two fatalities and one more last Tuesday.
Firefighter Carlos Arturo Jaramillo Mieles died while fighting a fire that continues ravashing Pallatanga, in Chimborazo; and in La Confianza parish, at Cuenca, Maria Mercedes Chuquimarca Lojano, 75, died in the midst of a disaster.
On Tuesday, in the canton Zaruma, El Oro, Manuel Cuenca, 70, died of suffocation by smoke. And other 2, Manuel N. and Maria Aguilar, were killed in Tungurahua and Bolivar.
There are 21 aircraft already operating in the fire fighting at the 9 provinces of Ecuador declared on orange alert. (MZ)
