560 orphan children were awarded scholarships

This year 560 children will receive backpacks, school supplies and free Metrovia tickets valid for 10 months, in addition to the full payment of their tuition and fees up to $ 200 per year, thanks to Protection Program of Scholarships of the Municipality of Guayaquil.

According to Ernesto Piechestein, head of special projects of the DASE (Directorate for Social Action), the money is delivered directly to the educative establishment each school year. As these are popular private centers, pensions range between 15 and 20 dollars a month.
