An Ecuadorian Migrants Project Will Fight Against Male Violence
The Embassy of Ecuador in Spain and the Repsol Foundation signed a collaboration agreement to develop a project to face male violence.
Strengthen the capacity of Ecuadorian immigrants and their families in Spain to deal with this violence and access to the system of care and justice are the goals of this program which is expected to benefit more than a thousand immigrants living in Madrid who live in vulnerable situations.
It will also promote “the fight against alcoholism and all those social practices that create conditions of violence, discrimination or unequal relations between men and women.”
The project will last seven months and will focus on three areas with a large presence of people of Ecuador: Center, south (in the municipalities of Parla, Getafe and Fuenlabrada) and east (in the cities of Alcalá de Henares, Torrejón de Ardoz). (BG)
