Andes Petroleum will explore two fields in the southeast of the country
With an investment of $ 72 million in order to explore over four years (with the possibility to extend two more) and a fee of between $ 41 and $ 47 for the production per barrel (if the exploitation process is given), the exploration and exploitation agreement was signed with the Chinese consortium Andes Petroleum in the fields 79 and 83, located in Pastaza.
This was announced yesterday in an official signing event that was attended by Coordinator Minister of Strategic Sectors Rafael Poveda; and Hydrocarbons Coordinator Minister Carlos Pareja Yannuzzelli; the representative of Andes Petroleum, Zhao Xinjun, and Secretary of Hydrocarbons Ivonne Fabara.
During the formal ceremony, representatives of Ecological Action and the Zápara community protested with drums and megaphones in the ground floor of the building of the Ministry of Strategic Sectors, where the agreement was signed.
