The vice-presidential candidate for the Creo-SUMA alliance, Andres Paez, reached the exteriors of the National Electoral Council to stay in a vigil with thousands of citizens. He said he did not recognize the results issued by the CNE until the end of the count.
Paez asked citizens to remain calm and respect the limits set by the National Police. “The trick is not falling into the provocation,” he said. For Paez, the victory so far belongs to Lenin Moreno, candidate of the Alianza PAIS party, due to a “computer fraud,” and demanded an explanation by the president of the CNE, Juan Pablo Pozo, “of the reasons why at 18:47 the system collapsed and the results were invested.”
