During the media interviews he gave, Paez challenged Glas to confront him in a debate on the corruption facts in which he would be involved as part of the strategic sectors.
Paez met yesterday with members of the Convergence Democratic group, evangelical leaders and banana businesspeople and miners.
He also made visits to radio and television stations. He planned to participate in the tours along with Lasso, in the Santa Clara market but his return flight to Quito was delayed.
In the afternoon he took part in a caravan in Carapungo. He said that the time has come to enter the final stretch, which not only has to focus on the campaign but also on the electoral control, and asked for citizen support “because they will not beat us at the polls,” he said.
He referred to the case of Lilian Tintori. She pointed out that while Cristina Fernandez, the former president of Argentina involved in corruption cases, the current government receives her with red carpet, and closes the doors to Tintori, a Venezuelan human rights activist who was received at the UN and the European Union.
