Another struggle outside the CNE

The exteriors of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), in Quito and its provincial branches, have become another scene of the clashes between the supporters of the candidates. Although all agree on taking care of the votes.

To that end, in Guayaquil, supporters of the CREO-SUMA party, (the presidential binomial Guillermo Lasso – Andres Paez), have been installed since 15:00 of Sunday in six large white tents, about 200 meters from the local headquarters of the CNE. Shouting “Freedom, freedom!,” they began to celebrate what they considered a triumph, when at 5:00 pm the Cedatos pollster favored Lasso.

On the other side were the supporters of the binomial Lenín Moreno – Jorge Glas, of Alianza PAIS, who at the same time celebrated with the results of the Perfiles de Opinion pollster. They were accompanied by supporters of the Centro Democrático political movement.

They installed a giant screen where they visualized the results transmitted by the state seized channels.

A total of 900 policemen surrounded the facilities to prevent clashes. Agents of the Order Maintenance Unit also awaited the arrival of the trucks with the votes.
