AP criticizes Pierina Correa’s actions

Pierina Correa
After a strong criticism from Pierina Correa, sister of regime leader, Rafael Correa, who openly expressed her contempt about the sports minister, Jose Francisco Cevallos, split from the political party Alianza País (AP) last Wednesday.
She announced that she’s out of the political movement, where she worked for seven years due to several discrepancies, including the possible candidacy for mayor of Milagro by Jose Francisco Cevallos or the Assemblywoman Denisse Robles, and the possible electoral agreement with the group of Jimmy Jairala for the prefect reelection.
Maria Alejandra Vicuna, AP Assemblyman, questioned Pierina for not using internal mechanisms to expose their displeasure, but said that her departure was a “case in point” that does not reflect divisions in the party.
While AP deputy director in Guayas, Kleber Loor, stated that if Pierina Correa had presented evidence of some kind of anomaly in the nomination of candidates, it would have been analyzed.
