Approximately 18 People Burned to Death in Mexico

Posted On 18 Oct 2010

México, AFP

Approximately 18 people burned to death while they were traveling in a bus that crashed in Querétaro, a source from the Command Center of the Public Security Secretariat of that state in central Mexico, informed this to AFP.

“A truck full of passengers turned over and 18 people burned to death” in the municipality of El Marqués, Querétaro State, said the source.

The passenger bus had departed from Mexico City and headed to the state of Zacatecas, about 600 km north of the Mexican capital.

Matching press reports say the accident occurred when the passenger bus collided with a trailer carrying Chemicals and immediately burst into flames, although the state Public Safety Department would not confirm even that version.
