AP’s Internal Problems Slowed the Media Bill Voting

A ruling group led by Paco Velasco (right) was commenting on the failed Media Bill voting session.
The Alianza Pais Party (AP) failed again yesterday in its goal of voting, article by article, the Media Bill.
“I regret that because of three or four people missing, the session could not start,” said Fernando Cordero, President of the National Assembly.
The legislators who were absent in the meeting were the ruling party members Maria Augusta Calle and Holger Chavez. Both legislators apologized to their teammates and justified their delays.
AP party members revealed yesterday that the support of some legislators conditioned the support of their votes due to disagreements with the nomination of candidates for the upcoming elections.
Former AP legislator, Fernando Gonzalez, revealed that at least three former ideology partners conditioned their vote for this bill in exchange for a nomination. MZ
