Authorities control the use of the nutritional traffic light in foods

From December 1, the authorities will intensify the controls in all processed foods that must be labeled with the nutritional traffic light. Where it is indicated by colors the amount of fat, salt and sugar the product contains.

Red means high; yellow, medium; and green low.

During inspections, the National Agency for Regulation, Control and Sanitary Surveillance (Arcsa) will also verify on the hangers if the products have health registration, and it will verify in shops the pest control and proper storage.
