After winning 3-0 against Liga de Quito, Barcelona began to consolidate its recovery and with 18 points took the sixth position in the standings of the  Ecuadorian soccer championship; while Emelec, the other idol team, achieved a tie at the Rumiñahui Stadium of 1-1 against Independiente, which confirms its first place and takes a long distance from the other teams.

Deportivo Quito, which won as local 3-0 against Manta, climbed to the second place, but 5 points under Emelec, who remains as pointer. The former team of the B Serie, Universidad Catholica, won 2-1 against El Nacional and ranks fourth under Liga de Quito. Manta remained in the 7th position, while Deportivo Quevedo placed eighth thanks to its victory against Liga de Loja (2-0), which is ninth.

Deportivo Cuenca, with 11 points, El Nacional and Macara, with 9 each, close the standings. The tournament will continue on May 5 when Barcelona visits Cuenca, Emelec receives the Liga de Loja and in the capital, the attractive match between Liga and Deportivo Quito disputing  the second place.
