British Court Authorizes Assange’s Extradition to Sweden

Demonstrations on favor of Julian Assange
The Supreme Court stated this Wednesday that they have given the green light to extradite the Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange to Sweden where he is accused of several sexual felonies.
Assange has always denied those charges, but now the Supreme Court rejected his defense with five votes on favor and two against it. However Assange’s lawyer, Gareth Peirce, stated that the Vienna Convention treaties were not taken into account during the legal process.
Meanwhile the Supreme Court president, Nicholas Philips, recognized the difficulties of the judges to study the points of the European law. The founder of Wikileaks was detained on London in December 07 of 2010 after his organization revealed classified documents of the United States and other countries. (AV)
