Antonio Bunay, former executive president of Bank COFIEC, has been branded as the responsible of giving an irregular loan of $ 800,000 to businessman Gaston Duzac. Buñay received two payments in October and November of 2010 on behalf the businessman Vicente Pinto Espinosa, the amounts reached a total of $ 400 thousand.
Bunay received this amount when he was president of COFIEC, the origin of the money hasn’t been established yet, meanwhile Pinchincha Bank, received the funds. This way in November of 2011, the Banking Board carried out a fine of $ 2,500, what was made on February of 2011.
The account of Bunay, 3377570004 was opened in November 2007, but only two of the 20 requisites were necessary for its opening. In such account checks were deposited from the account 51999181100 of Vicent Pinto, who justified having those funds since, “he is president and shareholder of Windsor Labs, he also has other incomes from the furniture company Gema, possibly belongs to him, his relation with other companies like Ecuawagen and Single Jersy.” However the bank apparently did not verified those data, according to the Bank Superintendency.
