Chavez Thanked Ecuadorian Position on sanctions to PDVSA
Today, the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, thanked Ecuador at his arrival in the country. Chávez thanked Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa because of the “solidarity shown” with his country on the penalty imposed by the United States to Venezuela’s PDVSA state oil company because of its businesses with Iran.
Chavez said this is “an empire aggression” against Venezuela, because the United States could not decide “to whom we would sell our product and to whom not”. He also thanked to Nicaragua because they also rejected the measure in the Assembly of the Organization American States, which takes place in El Salvador.
According to Chavez, another sign of U.S. interference in the region is the fact that Lima stock market dropped eight points after the victory of Ollanta Humala, “just because Peruvian people chose him,” adding that these are signs of “those who consider themselves masters of the world.”
