Chinese baby rescued from a sewer pipe was discharged
The chinese baby, that accidentally fell into a sewer pipe after the mother gave birth, in a bathroom, was discharged, on Wednesday after five days from the incident, according to the media.
The news agency reported that his mother, grandparents and the presumed father , who will undergo a paternity test, will be responsible for his care.
The incident occurred because the 22-year-old mother gave birth unexpectedly on Saturday while she was in a Turkish style toilet, where the newborn fell and became trapped in a pipe of 10 centimeters in diameter, which took one hour to be cut by the rescue services who used saws and pliers to extract the baby.
The mother “tried to hold on to the newborn until he fell in the bathroom, but his body was very slippery”, said Xinhua, quoting police sources.
The 2.3 Kilos (five pounds) baby remained trapped about three hours, because of this he suffered some cuts on his face and extremities, but was taken to a hospital and put in an incubator right after being released.
