Commission initiates proceedings for constitutional amendments in the Assembly
Four topics will be addressed this November 17 by the Ocasional Special Commission to investigate the constitutional amendments: autonomous governments (GAD), relection, reduction of age to be president and the popular consultation by citizens initiative.
The GADs are addressed on two occasions in the project. The first, in Section 104, where Alianza PAIS (AP) seeks to specify in the Constitution that they can only apply to order consultation on the topics “that are within the appropriate level of government.” And second, in Section 264, so GAD can build and maintain physical infrastructure and health equipments and education only with the “approval of the governing body of public policy.”
The Commission intends to invite the Association of Municipalities (AME), the Consortium of Autonomous Provincial Governments (Congope) and the National Secretary of Planning and Development (Senplades), without ruling out more guests on the list.
