Victor dos Santos Delgado, 48, of Belgian origin, was practicing canopy, when the waist harness loosened and he fell from a height of approximately 35 meters.

The accident occurred the afternoon of Thursday, January 7, at the Casa de Piedra Hostel, in the Esperanza Alta complex, km 7.5 of the Bucay road.

The foreigner, manager of a hydroelectric company in Switzerland, arrived to the country on December 11 to spend the holidays with the family of his wife, Rocio Cabrera, journalist and former tv producer. They married five years ago and every year, around the same time, they visited Guayaquil.

The body is now in the refrigerators of the Welfare Board until they complete the formalities of the repatriation to Switzerland. The company where he worked took over.

His wife filed a complaint in Guayaquil. She accuses the owner of the hostel for wrongful death, and asks for an investigation and his detention.

Cabrera claims in the document that the hostel allegedly failed to provide medical assistance to her husband and even continued with the sports activities, putting other people at risk.

Roberto Bustamante, owner of the hostel, replied that the accident was fortuitous. He says it will give his version of the case after the investigation the prosecution of Naranjito has initiated automatically.

However, he emphasizes that his business runs with the permissions of law and the implements used in the hostel for the sports practice are imported from France
