Ecuadornews:
The face of the economy in the first half of the year showed a good appearance with a tax collection that, under a greater commercial dynamics, rose by 11%. However, it is an aspect that, according to some experts, will tend to get tarnished during the second half, after the Government begins to implement a policy of reducing expenditure that, due to budget deficits, is obliged to take.
Of the $ 6.87 billion the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) managed to collect from January to June this year, $ 2,405 million corresponds to the Value Added Tax (VAT) collection, an item that is 9% higher than in the same half of last year.
But economic experts speak of the challenge that comes in the second half of this year, to sustain the tax collection, currently the first means of state financing.
The challenge is to maintain the recovery at a time when the current government is planning to reform the spending structure to face the budget deficit this year. (I)
