Correa will Donate Money from Trial to Project Yasuni

Atty. Alembert Vera informed that his client, President Rafael Correa plans to donate the money earned from the trial against newspaper El Universo to the Yasuni-ITT project. According to his lawyer Correa will not receive any money from this action.

During a press conference in the morning, Alembert Vera stated that his insistence on the payment of the $80 million is because “El Universo can afford it.”

Vera reassured in his argument that the directors of the newspaper are accomplices of the opinion published by its former writer, Emilio Palacio. (AV)
