Cuenca airline (LAC) will start its operations in April

Cuenca´s own airline, Línea Aérea Cuencana (LAC) will start his operations in Ecuador with domestic flights from  April 20 or 25. The operating base will be the Mariscal Lamar Airport of that city and the routes will be between Cuenca, Loja, Guayaquil and Quito.

The company has a Bombardier CRJ 700 aircraft, Canadian manufacturing, with capacity for 70 passengers.

Orlando Arroyo, pilot and operations manager, said this is an executive type aircraft, which moves very fast for being small and saves fuel.

For now, they are waiting the Aviation Authority to  issue its operating certificate to authorize them to fly the routes and start their operations.

So far, the investment has been $ 12 million. With the purchase of two aircrafts it would reach 30 to 35 million, funded by the National Finance Corporation (CFN).
