DiCaprio grew up surrounded by poverty and drugs

Posted On 04 Feb 2014

Imagen 4In the publication of Los Angeles Times, the actor Leonardo DiCaprio revealed that his childhood was determined by poverty and marginalization.

The star of movies like Titanic, Inception, among others, said he tries to explain to his godson, who lives near that area, how it was before, that the corner in which he lived was a great center of prostitution and had crimes and violence everywhere.

Di Caprio said it was like living in “Taxi Driver.” “I was a poor boy and I had to go see the other side of the spectrum. I’m not sure that yo can believe me. Today that is a hipster point completely gentrified.”

Also the actor revealed that he had to leave that environment to get a scholarship in a better area of Los Angeles and that allowed him to be where he is now.

Likewise, DiCaprio admitted during the interview that he never took drugs because he saw people taking drugs every day when he was 3 or 4 years.
