Dredging of Los Goles is soon to start

The elimination of the rocky material and the sediments represent the 52.9% of a total budget of $17’018.293 for the dredging of Los Goles (Rock obstacle), which is in front to Posorja and impedes the passage of larger vessels.The call for the international tender of the work was posted last Friday on the public procurement website by the Municipality of Guayaquil, and the Mayor Jaime Nebot said that this will be of invaluable utility for the city, since it will allow the port to be even more competitive.
According to the announcement, the offeror shall submit a real communication of one or more financial institutions, national or foreign, in which the successful tenderer has sufficient financial capacity to solve the implementation of the contract for six months. It is also required, in case of being awarded, to allocate suitable funding in exclusive, irrevocably and unconditionally way to the execution of the work subjected to this process.
It is expected that in three or four months two dredgers arrive to Guayaquil, whereby, there will be three devices on the 93 kilometers of the channel,since the dredger of the Yanuncay River will be still working, from the buoy 13 up to the 80.
