Ecuador Lives a Serious Political Hustle
A few days prior to the closure of inscriptions, Thursday November 15, political party’s and movements give the last details about the conformation of their lists and, in some cases, for today and tomorrow. Such is the case of Alianza Pais, movement led by the Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa and that at 17h00 will receive in Quito his third postulation for the presidential re-election in the upcoming elections on February 17.
The political party Partido Social Cristiano and its ally Madera de Guerrero, will meet tomorrow in the Convetion Center of Guayaquil, to officially proclaim their candidates for national, provincial legislator office. They will not present any presidential candidate, but officially announced their decision to support the candidature of Guillermo Lasso who faces a very particular situation due to the fact that his vice-president, Auki Tituaña, is questioned due to his expulsion from Pachakutik political party, which has stopped –so far- the inscription in the National Electoral Council.
According to the press reports, once the nomination of Anabella Azin as vice president of Alvaro Noboa is completed, in order to aspire for the presidency of the country, for the political party Partido Renovador Institucional (Prian). It’s probable that for this Monday the names of the candidates for the various legislatures are ready. In the meantime, the names Wilson Sanchez for the Andean Parliament, Silka Sanchez, for national assemblymen, and in Guayas, Luis Noboa, Alfonso Harb and the television anchorman Carlos Jose Matamoros, are only a speculation.
Ruptura made public the presidential candidature of Norman Wray, like the Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano (PRE), that insists on the postulation of his supreme leader Abdala Bucaram, which according to some analysts is almost impossible to
fulfil, they have until tomorrow, to register him in Quito and Guayaquil. The political party Suma, will candidature Mauricio Rodas to the Ecuadorian presidency has also planned a convention for this weekend.
As it is known, Alberto Acosta, from Unidad Plurinacional de las Izquierdas, will have as his vice-president Marcia Caicedo from Esmeraldas province, who lately has worked as a member of the National Electoral Council. Meanwhile, Lucio Gutierrez from Sociedad Patriotica, has decided that his vice-president in the upcoming elections will be Perla Boyes Fuller from Manabi province, the official announcement will be made soon.
