After finalizing the animal health requirements negotiation processes, Ecuador opened the export market for bovine and buffalo genetic material to Paraguay, which would benefit approximately 280,000 cattle ranchers.

This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary (Agrocalidad), who indicated that the process of negotiating animal health requirements for export began in December 2020 and ended on April 16. , with the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (SENCSA) of Paraguay, to establish a commercial link that guarantees the export of bovine and Ecuadorian buffalo genetic material.
The Ecuadorian genetic material product of the negotiation, are supported in the zoosanitary system of Ecuador and the actions that Agrocalidad has carried out to guarantee the quality of the Ecuadorian livestock production. All this added to the sanitary status obtained regarding foot-and-mouth disease with vaccination in continental Ecuador, in 2015, explained the MAG.
