Ecuador will present at the UN advances in Sustainable Development Goals
The results of Ecuador in Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in confronting the pandemic of covid-19 will be exhibited in the examination National Volunteer (ENV) outlining the country on July 10 before the community international.
This report – prepared by the Member States of the United Nations – facilitates the exchange of experiences between countries, as it addresses the successes, challenges and lessons learned in the implementation of the global agenda.
In Ecuador, the ENV 2020 was built with various actors and will be presented by the technical secretary of Planifica Ecuador, Sandra Argotty, during the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The meeting will take place virtually on July 10, 2020, starting at 1:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. New York time ).
The report reflects the country’s efforts to fight poverty , create an equitable and peaceful world , eradicate hunger , protect the planet , guarantee access to water, education and decent work.
In this context, the situation of the country will be dealt with according to the current situation generated from the impact of the pandemic by coronavirus.
As a precedent, after in 2018 the President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, declared the adoption of the 2030 Agenda as State policy, the Technical Secretariat Plan Ecuador and the Vice Presidency were jointly entrusted with the coordination and articulation for its implementation.
In this regard, the Government has made efforts to align national planning with the global agenda , including various actors and identifying a series of challenges and initiatives that allow the country to achieve the goals by 2030. ( I )
