Ecuadorian Chocolate Outstanding Quality Worldwide
European website Seventypercent.com, which brings together the most renowned wine, whiskey and chocolates tasters in the world, possession Ecuadorean chocolate Pacari (means dawn), in the 3th place in the world rankings after French chocolate Bonnat and Italian Domori-Chua. These results were obtained after multiple blind tastings specialists ate the products without knowing the brand or origin.
According to Santiago Peralta, who founded Pacari in 2000, the product is exported to some 19 countries since 2007, indicating that this recognition opens the door to more markets in Europe and the world.
Export of this chocolate is about 30 tons a year, where each 2-ounce box is sold for more than € 3.00 (about $ 4.20) to the public. While in Ecuador 15% of its production stays in the market. (BG)
