EcuadorNews:
Exports of products to Spain amounted to 146.0 million euros ($ 164 million) in the first quarter of 2017, 27.8% more than in the same period of last year, according to foreign trade data released by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Competitiveness.
The increase coincided with the implementation of the Multi-Party Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the European Union, in force since January 1. For its part, imports of Spanish products from Ecuador (exports from the Spanish point of view) have also been strengthened thanks to the Multiparty Trade Agreement.
The balance of exports and imports during the first quarter of 2017 is favorable to Ecuador for 35.1 million euros ($ 39.5 million).
