Ecuadorian flowers in Amsterdam gardens
About 4,000 Ecuadorian flowers, of 28 varieties, were displayed for three days in Amsterdam, in the Open Tuinen Dagen event (The Open Gardens).
“Heliconias and other tropical flowers, delphinium and gypshophila; Hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, carnations, lilies and spray roses, bamboo for gardens, foliage plantas as codiaeum and pittosporum palms, through 20 bouquets designed by four renowned florists in Amsterdam,” said Juan Patricio Navarro, director of the commercial office of Pro Ecuador in Rotterdam.
Each flower arrangement was accompanied by a label with the country brand and logo of Pro Ecuador. 6,000 postcards were also distributed (with a removable), which showed thematic information (4 different topics and relevant to Ecuadorian flowers) and points of sale in the Netherlands.
The goal, said Navarro, is to promote the Ecuadorian flowers and encourage local consumption by connecting renowned florists with Ecuadorian growers who already export through the Netherlands.
