Egyptian Soldiers Kill Demonstrators in Tahrir Square
This Monday, December 19, hundreds of soldiers with riot gear headed into Tahrir Square and fired upon the demonstrators that demand the immediate exit of the military regime.
The Ministry of Health pointed out the death toll has risen to 14 in just four days. The violence started last Friday, December 16, when the military forces that guarded the building of the cabinet, near Tahrir Square, brutally suppressed the demonstrators.
For three weeks the demonstrators have been demanding the resignation of the generals that have been ruling Egypt since president Hosni Mubarak was overthrown from his post. The campaign of the generals frustrates the Egyptian people since it continues to promote instability and financial troubles since the fall of Mubarak. Other civilians await the results of the first parliamentary elections. (AV)
