Electric cookers spare parts will continue to be exempted from paying tariffs
Posted On 17 Nov 2014
The Government will extend to the end of November the tariff exemptions for CKD or spare parts used for electric induction cookers. The Electricity Minister Esteban Albornoz said last week during the delivery of 49 induction cookers in Floreana (Galapagos), that this measure will be implemented to continue the domestic manufacture of induction cookers.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry, it is estimated that about 8000 induction cookers of national fabrication have been acquired within the program. But added to those imported kitchens and those that previously were marketed in the country, it is estimated that about 15000 units have been purchased.
