The proposal of the Minister of Industries, Eduardo Egas, announced yesterday in an interview with daily Expreso, caused reactions of the productive sector and the workers union.

The business community applauds the analysis of the parameter for the advance payment of the income tax and the labor flexibility to avoid layoffs.

The measures would have the purpose of gaining liquidity and avoid staff dismissals in companies, something that has increased because this year $ 7,000 million by oil exports will no enter the country as an effect of the fall in oil prices.

Employers, who have the same set goals, give other suggestions. Henry Kronfle, former president of the Chamber of Industries of Guayaquil, said to this daily that within the dollarization and even more in times of recession, experimental mechanisms should not be implemented, because that generates distrust.

He stressed that if there´s no money then, it can not be spent, therefore imports can´t be done, therefore, any kind of restrictive measure is needed for purchases abroad.

A 100% exporting company should buy locally without paying the Value Added Tax (VAT). This would generate liquidity, competitiveness and could end with the drawback,” he said.
