Estadio Monumental is Mortgaged for an IESS Debt

Barcelona Sporting Club lawyer, Pedro Cruz, revealed that Barcelona after overcoming from debts and liens from Estadio Monumental for outstanding values with Ecapag, IRS, and property taxes, had to assume debts for a Work commitment fine with the Social Security Institute (IEES). The institution has a debt of more than $ 600,000; Cruz assures that the 75% of debts were obtained at Maruri´s presidency.

Barcelona agreed with IESS to pay the debt within 60 months, meanwhile the stadium will be given as warranty under a mortgage.
However, Alfonso Harb, Barcelona´s president denied that the stadium is mortgaged “What we have done is leave as guarantee several stage boxes, which belongs to Barcelona, for the non-payment of contributions to players and club workers since 15 or 16 years ago,” he said.
